Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about working with DiamondPoint Contractors in Austin — permits, timelines, costs, and how we work.

Working with DiamondPoint

How do I get a free estimate?

Call (512) 945-8877, book through HireNimbus, or use the request form on this site. Aaron Combs will schedule a site visit — estimates are always free and in writing before any work begins.

Do you charge for estimates?

No. DiamondPoint provides free written estimates for all projects. We do not give estimates over the phone without seeing the site — the scope of work affects the price too much to quote blind.

How quickly do you respond after I reach out?

Same day during business hours. DiamondPoint is verified on HireNimbus and maintains response time standards as part of that verification.

Who will be on-site managing the project?

Aaron Combs manages every project personally. You deal with the owner from estimate to punch list — not an account manager who relays information.

Do you use subcontractors?

For licensed trade work (plumbing, electrical, HVAC), DiamondPoint coordinates licensed subcontractors we've worked with consistently. General carpentry, framing, drywall, tile, and painting is handled by our own crew.

Permits & Licensing

Are you licensed and insured in Texas?

Yes. DiamondPoint is licensed and insured in Texas for general contracting work. License and insurance information is available on request.

Which projects require permits in Austin?

Structural changes (wall removal, additions, beams), electrical panel work, plumbing relocations, HVAC modifications, and new construction all typically require permits through Austin's Development Services Department. Cabinet and countertop replacements, flooring, and cosmetic work generally do not.

Who handles the permit application?

DiamondPoint handles the permit application, plan submission, review response, and inspection scheduling. You don't manage the permit office — we do.

What happens if the project fails inspection?

DiamondPoint addresses any inspection correction items at our cost when they result from our work. We communicate the inspection result and the correction plan immediately.

Timelines & Scheduling

How far out are you booked?

Typically 2–4 weeks for most projects during non-peak seasons. Kitchen and bathroom remodels during busy periods may book 4–6 weeks out. Getting a free estimate early secures your place on the schedule.

What affects project timeline the most?

Permit review time, material lead times (especially custom cabinets and specialty tile), and the scope of any concealed conditions discovered during demolition. DiamondPoint gives a realistic timeline at the estimate and communicates when anything changes it.

Do I need to move out during a renovation?

For most kitchen and bathroom projects, you can stay in the home. Large-scale renovations affecting multiple rooms simultaneously may require temporary relocation for a portion of the project. DiamondPoint discusses this at the estimate stage.

Do you work on weekends?

DiamondPoint works Monday through Friday 8AM–6PM and Saturday 9AM–4PM. We do not schedule construction on Sundays.

Costs & Payments

How does DiamondPoint price projects?

Every project gets a written, line-item estimate before work begins. DiamondPoint does not give ranges from memory — we visit the site, assess the scope, and provide a fixed estimate for the defined scope of work.

What if unexpected issues come up after work starts?

Concealed conditions that couldn't be seen before demolition are addressed through a written change order before the additional work proceeds. DiamondPoint does not do work outside the agreed scope without your approval and a revised price.

What payment methods do you accept?

DiamondPoint accepts check, bank transfer, and major credit cards. A deposit is typically required to schedule the start date, with the balance due at project completion.

Service Area

What areas do you serve?

DiamondPoint primarily serves Austin and the surrounding communities: Bee Cave, Manor, Hutto, Pflugerville, and Round Rock. For projects outside this range, call to discuss — we evaluate on a case-by-case basis.

Do you serve all Austin neighborhoods?

Yes. DiamondPoint works throughout Austin — East Austin, South Austin, Central, Northwest Hills, and beyond. If you're in the Austin metro, we can make it work.
